Best next step

Pick the page that matches your workflow, not the tool with the longest feature list.

The short version

  • BestToolScan does not ask you to register, and does not collect names, addresses or payment details.
  • Advertising and affiliate partners set cookies in your browser. That is the main way data is collected here.
  • If you email me, I use your message only to answer it.
  • You can refuse or delete cookies at any time. The links to do that are below.

Cookies and similar technologies

A cookie is a small file a site or its partners store in your browser. BestToolScan itself sets no cookies for tracking or personalisation. The cookies you may receive on this site are set by third parties, in these categories:

PurposeSet byWhat it does
AdvertisingGoogle and its ad-technology partnersServes ads, limits how often you see the same ad, and measures ad performance. May be used to personalise ads where you have consented.
Affiliate attributionVendor affiliate programs and their networks (for example Impact, PartnerStack, FirstPromoter)Records that you arrived at a vendor from this site, so a commission can be credited if you later buy.
Click countingBestToolScanOutbound vendor clicks are counted server-side, by vendor and source page. No cookie is set and no identifier is stored. Automated traffic is filtered out.

Advertising, and Google specifically

  • Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
  • Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and other sites on the internet.
  • You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
  • You can opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info/choices, or for European users at youronlinechoices.eu.
  • Where required, visitors in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland are asked for consent before any non-essential cookie is set, and consent can be withdrawn at any time through the same prompt.

Affiliate links

Some outbound links to vendors are affiliate links. Following one may place a cookie from that vendor or its affiliate network, which credits this site if you later subscribe. You pay the same either way, and the link never changes which tool a page recommends. This is set out in full in the affiliate disclosure.

Server logs

Like every web server, the host records standard request data: IP address, browser user agent, referring page, requested URL and timestamp. It is used for security and to diagnose faults, is not combined with anything else, and is not sold or shared for marketing.

Email

If you write to hello@besttoolscan.com, your address and message are kept only as long as needed to deal with it and any follow-up. There is no newsletter and no mailing list, so your address is never added to one.

Your rights

If you are in the EEA or the UK, the GDPR gives you the right to access, correct, delete or restrict processing of your personal data, to object to processing, and to complain to your national data protection authority. If you are in California, the CCPA/CPRA gives you the right to know what is collected, to have it deleted, and to opt out of its sale or sharing — BestToolScan does not sell personal information.

The lawful basis for advertising and analytics cookies is your consent; for server logs it is legitimate interest in keeping the site running and secure.

To exercise any of these rights, email hello@besttoolscan.com.

Children

This site is aimed at business software buyers and is not directed at children under 16. No data is knowingly collected from them.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, the revision date at the top of this page changes with it. Continued use of the site after that means you accept the revised policy.

I run BestToolScan on my own. Every comparison here starts from the same question a buyer actually has: which job are you hiring this tool for, and where does it stop being worth the money. Scores and recommendations come from vendor documentation, published pricing, feature scope and buyer workflow — the method is written out in full on How we test, including what is not tested hands-on.

Something wrong or out of date? Tell me and I will fix it: hello@besttoolscan.com. See also the editorial policy and affiliate disclosure.

Last updated: 2026-08-19. Product limits and pricing change often — check the vendor site before you buy. Some outbound links are affiliate links; they never change which tool is recommended.
